4H Class Assembly

Today, (Friday 30th November) 4H performed their amazing first assembly of the year. Their performance was about the great  World War 1 -WW1– and what happened while people were at war. They began the assembly with a few interesting facts such as:

  • The war ended on the 11th day off the 11th month of the 11th hour.
  • The soldiers lived in the stenching muddy trenches.

Then, some pupils from the class read out parts of their fabulous diaries and letters. After that, 4H showed us some fantastic artwork that looked like it was created by a real artist. The pictures were based on a silhouette of a soldier standing in a field full of poppies. The background was a water colour wash of a sunset.

The children sang us some songs from the First World War. The songs were called: It’s a long way to Tipperary and Pack up your troubles in your own kit bag. It was a really good assembly and we can’t wait to see their next one!
