This morning, Year 4 woke up bright and early to prepare for their busy day. They were greeted by a choice cereal or toast with either jam, butter or chocolate spread. Yum! The walk was the focus of the day and was truly memorable. Totalling 6 miles, we ventured along the river, observing the meanders, through the town, noting Roman ruins, up to White wells for lunch and ended at the top of the Cow and Calf with the fantastic views of Ilkley. While at the top, we learnt about the story behind it, tried to move the calf rock and shout over to Nell Bank in the distance. Both the children and adults had a great time.
We returned after 5 hours with plenty of tired bodies and relaxed with a quick drink. This evening, the children took part in a music quiz after another tasty tea.
Tomorrow it’s time for den building, orienteering and prizes all before heading back to school. We cannot wait. Goodnight!
