Today, children are leaving school for two weeks (apart from three three bloggers in the ICT suite staying an hour after school :)) However, today was also a wear a hat day! Today, children could wear a hat to school (for the fee of one pound) and raise money for the Brain Tumour Research charity.
This charity supports people with brain tumours by using money to find out ways to cure people and find out more about brain tumours. Along with that, you could purchase a badge or a wristband for one pound only. These items could be purchased before school or after school, or for today only you could have purchased one off of the few Year 6 children that were walking around wearing pink t-shirts.
Not to forget, there were multiple competitions and raffles that students could join. One of them was a raffle where you would pay 50p and choose a name for a grey stuffed rabbit. The winner was Mrs Gould, the teacher of class 6G. Next, there was a raffle where you could win an Easter egg or an Easter egg hamper that was kindly donated by Morrisons. The winner of the hamper was Pola in 1G. Lastly, there was an Easter bonnet competition. If you came to school with a homemade easter hat then you had a chance of winning a few easter eggs. The runners up won a Smarties egg whist the winners won a Malteser egg.
We raised a fantastic £661.10 so thank you to everyone involved. We all enjoyed today playing out in the sun in our fun hats. Have a lovely holiday and Happy Easter
