Although the sun wasn’t out today, this did not stop us from continuing our fun activities in Clapham.
Group 1 enjoyed tree climbing with Mrs Hall this morning and gorge scrambling this afternoon with Mrs Ross. What a wonderful and enthusiastic group they were.
Group 2 took part in gorge scrambling with Mrs Cavalier-Lumley and Mrs Hudson this morning followed by a History learning walk around the village with Mrs Hall and Mrs Cavalier-Lumley.
Group 3 took the clockwise route on the long walk with Mrs Javed and Mr Cavalier-Lumley whist Mr Patterson and Mrs Horrocks took group 4 n the anticlockwise route.
Finally group 5 completed the village study with Mr Rhodes and Mrs Ross and spent the afternoon caving.
Each group continued to impress the adults they were working with.
In the evening, In the evening the children enjoyed activities such as Nightline, Batz and the tunnels and telescope. Those children who completed the night activities yesterday enjoyed a DVD.
Below are the pictures of the groups enjoying their activities.
We got stuck into a full day of activities today. Group 1 and 2 were involved in the long walk across Crummackdale and Norber and then traveled through Austwick Village. We were exhausted after the 9.3 mile walk!
Group 3 experimented in Gorge Scrambling where they climbed up a dry gorge and made their way through small spaces in between the rocks. We trekked through Yordas cave and through streams of water.
Group 5 faced their fears by tree climbing and group 4 explored Clapham Village and learnt about the history of the Farrar family. Each group rotated their activities and had an eventful day.
In the evening the children enjoyed activities such as trusting their partners whilst taking part in the nightline activity and using bat detectors to search for bats in the night. Those children involved in the long walk had a night off in the Ingleborough Hall cinema!
Here are some pictures of the activities we have been involved in today.
Today we set off the long anticipated residential to Ingleborough Hall. Upon arrival we took our luggage into the outdoor classroom and made our way to collect our walking boots from the cellar. We then ate our lunch as we couldn’t hold our hunger anymore!
We then set off on a mile walk to the Ingleborough Show Cave. In the cave we learnt about the rock formations, we saw the reflective city in the rain water and learnt about stalactite and stalagmite.
When we arrived back, we ate our tea which was jumbo fish fingers, pizza and chips followed by brownies and chocolate sauce.
We then had a fire alarm test and ended the day with stories with Sita by the campfire. Just before bed, Mr Rhodes read chapter 3 whilst we drank hot chocolate.
Take at look at some of the photographs from yesterday.
