Mr. Sykes nominated for special award

We are very pleased to announce that Mr. Sykes, our amazing caretaker, has been nominated for a special award.  The annual teaching awards are presented by the Telegraph and Argus every year.  Mr. Sykes has been nominated for the Support Staff Member of the Year Award.  He will be attending a presentation ceremony on the 6th March, where the winners of all the awards will be announced.  Mr. Sykes was chosen to be part of a short list of three nominees from a field of 27.  This in itself is a great achievement.  I know that everyone will want to join us in wishing Mr. Sykes good luck at the award ceremony.  We would just like to say that whatever the outcome Mr. Sykes is the best caretaker ever!!

Investors in People

We are very pleased and proud to announce that as a result of our re-assessment for the Investors in People Standard, we have been awarded the Gold Level.  A big thank you and congratulations to all our staff, who have worked together to achieve this award. An especially big thank you to Miss Ackernley for the excellent planning and organisation of the three assessment days.  Particular areas of strength that were identified by the assessor were the excellent ethos, culture and teamwork within the school.  He also commented that Horton Grange was the best school he had visited during his role as an assessor.  Well done everyone!
