Year 4’s and Year 6’s team together

Today we are coaching each other to improve our Times Table skills.

All the Year 4’s really enjoyed working alongside the 6’s.

The atmosphere in the room was amazing too.

Year 6 tag rugby tournament

On Tuesday afternoon, some of our year 6 pupils took part in a tag rugby tournament.

The boys’ team won 5 of their 6 group matches and ended up finishing top of the group. They narrowly lost by a score of 3-2 in the final. Kyle won the player of the tournament award.

The girls’ team improved as the tournament went on. The first 2 games resulted in narrow defeats. They then drew their next 4 games 1-1, but managed to win their last match 2-1.

Well done Hothfielders!

LEARNING TO MEASURE TEMPERATURE (AND SPELL IT CORRECTLY!)

Year 4 children have been learning how to use thermometers to measure temperature accurately. They measured very hot water and very cold water and have been given the challenge to measure the temperature of warm water at home.

Can any of them remember the name of the units used to measure temperature?

Netball League 18/11/13

Last Monday evening our year 5 and 6 netball team played their second round of league fixtures.

We lost our first game to St. Stephens and drew our second game with Long Lee. Abigail and Aimee scored our points in that game.

Well done to all the girls that took part. Mrs Meakin believes that you are improving with every game you play, so keep going girls.
