Year 6 Tag Rugby Tournament

On Thursday, Hothfield took part in a tag rugby competition at South Craven School. We entered 2 teams into the competition and had 18 players participate altogether.

Our B team unfortunately lost their 3 group matches but they played some good tag rugby and visibly grew in confidence with each match they played.

Our A team won 2 and lost 1 of their group games. They finished 2nd in their group and qualified for the semi-finals. We eventually lost the semi-final.

All the players really enjoyed themselves and displayed superb sportsmanship throughout the competition.

Netball

Our final set of fixtures for the season saw us win 9-0 and 4-2 to finish second in the league overall.

We have qualified for the Bradford Summer School Games.

Ellie was awarded our player of the season award.

South Craven Schools Netball Champions!

On Wednesday 8th March Hothfield competed in South Craven School’s netball competition. We had two teams competing, team A and team B.  It was a mixture of girls and boys. These are the people that participated…

Team A = Ellie, Holly, Kaye, Eve, Chloe, Lara, Oscar, Oliver and Patrick.

Team B = Lucie, Francessca, Demi – Leigh, Khushi, Ashleigh, Harry, Finley and Ethan.

Team A got off to an unlucky start by losing their first game, but they soon turned it around by drawing their next game and winning the next two. After working hard from their last few games, they got through to the semi-finals. The semi-final was the toughest game they’d ever played. Drawing 0-0 they had to go onto golden goal time. Luckily after alot of hard work, Patrick scored the golden goal leading Team A through to the finals!!!  The last game was exhausting for Team A, but with the finish line in site they didn’t give up…

Team A WON !!! By winning the competition Team A held their medals proudly.

scores = 0-1, 0-0, 2-0, 3-1, semi-finals 1-0, Finals 4-0!

Bradford U11 Girls Football Champions…again!

For the second consecutive year Hothfield  are the Bradford School Games football champions.

Free-flowing football, penalty saves, top quality goals, bruises & blood and sportsmanship aplenty, Hothfield won 3 and drew 1 of their four group stage matches to top the group.

Undefeated in their group stage matches, Hothfield progressed to the semi- finals. Hothfield, who up to this point, had played well but not shown their best form, really turned on the style in the semi final, winning 5-0.
The final was simply a fantastic match. Hothfield raced into a 2-0 lead, and led 3-1 at the break. Heaton upped their game in the second half and clawed themselves back to parity. With seconds left, Chloe F went on a mazy run and coolly slotted home a dramatic winner.

Group Stage:

Hothfield 3-1 Crossflatts

Hothfield 2-2 St Anthony’s

Hothfield 2-1 Fagley

Hothfield 3-1 Lidget Green

Semi Final:

Hothfield 5-0 Baildon

Final:

Hothfield 4-3 Heaton
