In reception class we have been learning about celebrations.

We looked at different celebrations around the world, Holi the Hindu festival of colour, Chinese New Year and Nowruz the Persian New Year.

Acting Headteacher

This week we had a visit from the CEO of BDAT, Carol Dewhurst. She keeps in regular contact with all of the BDAT schools and it was great to see her around. She attended the governing body meeting, which was also the first one for our new Chair of governors Anthony Blackwell. Year 3 – Heroes and Villains

Our topic this half term is Heroes and Villains. This week we have focussed on Cruella De Vil.  We listened to and compared two versions of the Cruella De Vil song. We’ve created portraits of Cruella De Vil using a variety of mediums.

Acting Headteacher

This week I have used the newsletter to share information and I hope to get plenty of responses via the reply slip about whether you would like the use of an app for school to communicate. Lots of schools use an app succssfully and it can cut down considerably on missed letters and enable you to access the website via a phone or tablet more easily. Let us know what you think, I am meeting to discuss the app next week and more details will follow. I couldn’t have imagined using an app for school even a few years ago but it does seem like the benefits are great, let us know what you think.

Acting Headteacher – Snow

Hello, today has brought with it the snow to school and the surrounding district with seemingly quite localised snow fall and conditions. Oxenhope Online did a great job keeping people informed of local information and updated with information about the school being open as well – thank you. The conditions in Oxenhope around school were not as bad as in some other areas although it was something of a shock to me because on the far side of Keighley all was fine.
