NHGS Pupils Perform A Christmas Carol

on December 7, 2017

Today some pupils from North Halifax Grammar School treated us  to a performance of their version of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.

Here’s what our year 3 children thought.

WOW! It was amazing! My favourite character was the Ghost of Christmas Future because it had skeleton hands and it was petrifying!  Leo

I liked the bit when we got to join in with one of the songs.  My favourite character was the Ghost of Christmas Past because she was very nice.  Isla

I liked the bit when everyone thought that Scrooge had died including his friend Bob Cratchit, they started laughing.  I enjoyed when Jacob Marley came back from the past. The best characters were the Ghosts of the Past, Present and Future and the Ghost of Jacob Marley.

I liked the bit at the start when Ebenezer Scrooge kept on shouting out horrid words whilst the Narrator was talking.  My favourite character was Ebenezer Scrooge because he changed from a bad person into a good one.  Rory

I liked NHGS’ version of A Christmas Carol because I thought the acting was brilliant!  My favourite part was when the Ghost of the Future came onto the stage, it was scary because her fingers were bones. Yousef

I liked the look of the Future Spirit.  I also liked it when Scrooge surprised Bob Cratchit – he pretended that he was angry but he was just saying Merry Christmas.  My favourite character was the Ghost of the Future because it is a skeleton and it doesn’t talk, it was really creepy.  Dominic

I loved the parts when the Spirits came on stage, they were very scary.  When Scrooge came on stage he was always angry.  In some parts, the boy who was the narrator was the narrator but he also played some other parts. I also liked the girl who played Jacob Marley. Imogen

In the performance I enjoyed the part where Scrooge meets because it was cool as well as the part when the Christmas Spirit of the Future comes because it’s petrifying because he doesn’t talk and he’s got skeleton hands.  Finally, at the end, it’s funny when Scrooge tricks Bob Cratchit in his house.  Oliver L-B

I liked the bit where Ebenezer Scrooge went into the past, present and future with all the different ghosts and when the ghosts suddenly kept appearing. My favourite character was Scrooge because he turned from bad to good and then everyone was happy.  Bethany

My favourite part of the performance was when the Ghost of the Future came. The costume was so cool because her hands were skeleton bones and she is my favourite. Oliver B

My favourite character was the Ghost of Christmas Past because she was scary and I loved her purple and brown rag and her acting was amazing! Molly

I liked the part where the Ghost of the Future came to tell Scrooge about his death. My favourite character was Jacob Marley because he has chains for clothes. Elliot

I liked the part where the Ghost of the Past took Scrooge into the past. When I am a grown up I want to be a performer.  Sam

I liked the Ghost of Christmas Future. When he showed Scrooge his grave it was spooky. I also liked Scrooge because his voice was mean and cold.  I liked when they time travelled to different Christmas days.  I thought Jacob Marley with his chains was really frightening. Blake

I liked the girl who played Jacob Marley in his clanking, rusty chains. I liked the Ghost of Christmas Future, it was cool. James

Today four people came in to do a performance, a boy and three girls.  My favourite parts were the ghosts of the Past Present and Future.  I liked them because two of them could turn invisibe and the other one had a fake skeleton hand and did actions. Harry

I liked the Ghost of Christmas Past because you got to join in and sing “fa la la la la, la la la la.” My favourite character was Scrooge because he was mean, but at the end he wasn’t mean. People turned invisible, but we still saw them. Mikey

My favourite part was the Ghost of Christmas Present because we got to sing “Deck the Halls” and everyone got to sing “fa la la la la, la la la laaaa” Lucas S

My favourite character was Scrooge because he was so bossy.  Scrooge was a mean man but in the end he was nice.  My favourite bit was the future ghost.  Lucas B.

I liked it when Scrooge made Bob Cratchit jump off the chair and I liked his wife because she called Scrooge “An elephant”. My favourite spirit was the Ghost of the Future because she had boney hands. Jack

Well it was so amazing that it blew my head off! My favourite character was the Ghost of Christmas Past because she can go through time. Joseph

My favourite bit was when Ebenezer Scrooge scared Bob Cratchit. My favourite character was Jacob Marley. Henry

Wow! I liked when Scrooge said “Bah Humbug!” to Bob Cratchit because he was mad and mean so he said “You would like a day off tomorrow wouldn’t you? Leave then!” Ariella

I liked it when Jacob Marley teased Scrooge because it was really funny when he was talking about chains. Emily

I liked the part where Scrooge tricked Bob Cratchit pretending he was still mean, then he said “Merry Christmas” Sophie

I liked the scenery because even though there wasn’t a person standing behind, it looked like there was a person standing behind the window. Peter

My favourite bit was the Ghost of Christmas Future because you can see the bones and it was cool. James D
