How The Moon Moves

In Science, year five have been learning about Space. For their final lesson, they discovered how the moon moves. The children worked in groups to produce a model which demonstrates the way the moon rotates and translates around the earth. They also discovered the four different moons we experience and how long the cycle takes. Do you know what they are and how long it takes?

On the Ning Nang Nong

This half term year five are studying nonsense poetry in English. This week they have been learning the poem ‘On the Ning Nang Nong’ by Spike Milligan which goes like this:

On the Ning Nang Nong

Where the Cows go Bong!

and the monkeys all say BOO!

There’s a Nong Nang Ning

Where the trees go Ping!

And the tea pots jibber jabber joo.

On the Nong Ning Nang

All the mice go Clang

And you just can’t catch ’em when they do!

So its Ning Nang Nong

Cows go Bong!

Nong Nang Ning

Trees go ping

Nong Ning Nang

The mice go Clang

What a noisy place to belong

is the Ning Nang Ning Nang Nong!!

Here are some pictures of the children performing the poem:
