KS1 and Reception Christmas Dinner


Last Friday, years one and five teamed up for a special dance lesson! After an energetic warm up, the children worked in groups to produce some of their own dances. Here are some photos from a busy afternoon:

This half term in Year 1 our topic is ‘Fire, Light and Ice’ and  we will be learning:

Phonics – revising the Phase 3 and Phase 4 sounds. Introducing new ‘tricky’ words. This will include sentence writing with question marks and joining clauses using ‘and’ and ‘because’.

English – Free Verse Poetry, Beegu by Alexis Deacon and Letter writing.

Maths – Number names, fact families, Place Value within 20 and Shape.

History – Remembrance Day, Guy Fawkes and History of Toys with a special visitor.

DT/Art – Clay poppies, toy puppet making

RE – Incarnation – Why does Christmas matter to Christians?

PE – Gymnastics (every Friday afternoon)
