E-Safety Coffee Morning (THIS FRIDAY)

As you are aware internet safety is a key issue for most parents and schools in this ever changing and technology driven world. The NSPCC state, 1 in 4 children have experienced something upsetting on a social networking site” and 1 in 3 children have been a victim of cyber-bullying”

We want to keep the children at St.Paul’s as safe as possible online. On Friday, PCSO Luke Carson has been invited to present some information to parents and carers about children’s safety online. All parents and carers are welcome to come and hear ways in which we can keep children safe and also be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

The coffee morning will start at 8:45 and there will be refreshments. Please let us know if you would like to attend by returning the slip on the letter, phoning or calling in at the office or commenting below.

Thank you

Respect for Sacred Objects

This morning we learnt how different faiths show respect for their sacred objects and places of worship.

Thank you to my little helpers who did a fantastic job!

First Holy Communion

Congratulations to these Year 5 and 6 children who had their First Holy Communion at church, either on Sunday or today.

The children also received a special certificate, it was signed by the Bishop and they were given a special bible from Theirry as a present.

The Caravan & When I Grow Up

Year six performed an assembly this morning for their parents and the children in key stage two. This was all their own work based on the different things they have been learning this half term. There have been a lot of children poorly this week, so the class did really well to put this together.

Here is the performance of our class story – The Caravan. It is followed by the performance of ‘When I Grow Up’ which the children learnt with two teachers from BBEC earlier in the year:

Well done year six, I thought you were excellent this morning and you made me very proud!

Electricity!

Our science topic for the half term in year six is electricity. Today, we have been conducting experiments to see how different voltages effect the brightness of a light bulb.

Children in Need

This week we have been baking some beautiful buns to raise money for Children in Need.

The children enjoyed eating them all at break time on Friday and looked bright and colourful in non-uniform, pyjamas or onesies!

Thank you to all the staff, parents and children involved and a big THANK YOU to you all for your kind and generous donations.

Remembrance Day

This week we have learnt all about Remembrance day and done some awesome Art work in every class.

We also had an assembly and a 2 minute silence to remember all the soldiers and other people involved in World War 1 especially but also World War 2  and wars that are still going on right now.

Here are some examples of our Art work.

This week we have all been learning about Diwali.

We learnt some Indian hand gestures and steps. Year 1,2,3 and 4 leant a little Diwali dance too and did extremely well. Year 6 enjoyed their Bollywood warm up and Year 5 and 6 did some fantastic writing on Diwali and Bandhi Chhor Diwas.

Here are a few photos of some Diwali artwork produced this week and Indian dancing.

A special “Thank you” goes to all the children in Year 3 and 4 who performed in our assembly on Tuesday morning. You were all amazing!

This week at St.Paul’s

Welcome back to school! So far, it has been a great start to the new term and we hope it continues.

In our first assembly we were introduced and taught about our new value, justice. We learnt that we don’t live in a just world but we can try to make it that way by making yourself just to other people.

Another positive feature of the new week is that year 6 went to a place called The National Media museum. Not only year 6 went on a trip, year 3 went to Minecraft  training at the innovation centre. Also, year 5 visited BBEC for Shakespeare Globe theatre day, all the classes had lots of good fun.

To conclude, we hope that weeks continue to be like this for the rest off the time and we hope everyone enjoys themselves.
