Cat And Mouse In a Haunted House.

Geronimo Stilton is just an ordinary mouse who works at a newspaper, until he goes to visit his aunt but unfortunately, his car broke down in the middle of a forest WITH NOBODY! He comes across a very large castle he walks inside and there is lots of pictures of cats. He keeps hearing lots of sounds so he rings his sister, so she comes and brings his nephew and his cousin. They come and rescue him and take him home.

Waiting for Anya is a story about Germans coming and taking over a village where Jewish people live, the Germans come and take the Jewish to be slaves. A young boy called Joe is worried about the Jewish children so he collected some Jewish children and he hides them in his barn to keep them safe.

I would rate this book 7/10  because it is not the best book it is ok and the age group would be 8 and over.

Waiting for Anya

I think that waiting for Anya  is recommended for children from ages 11 -12. I found the German a bit hard but it was OK. The easy bit was the voices and the English writing is easy too. Jo did not stop until he’d shut the door behind him and even then his heart could not stop pounding in his ears.

I rate this 10/10

Gangsta Granny, David Walliams by George

Meet Ben’s Granny, you’d think she’s just an ordinary Granny but she is actually an international jewel thief! No one would think that she was a thief because she is very ordinary, in fact she is very boring and all she ever does with Ben is play scrabble.

Ben is annoyed with his parents when they force him to go to his boring Granny every Friday, that was until Ben some how uncovered his Granny’s secret and joined her to steal things that no other thief had managed to take…

This is a very funny book and although it’s a little bit sad in places, I like it and I am sure my friends will like it too.

Cool by Michael Morpurgo

This book cool is by Michael Morpurgo. It is about a boy called
Robbie who has a dog called Lucky he loves him so much he even risks his life for him. Robbie lies there in a coma for months on end. Every day goes by, there is never a day with no  visitors. School came whenever they could, they sang songs to him, gave him cards and toys just wanting him to be back at school. They were all wishing he was alright that the car hadn’t made his life disappear in thin air.
But everybody started to think that he wasn’t going
to make it,  they thought he couldn’t hear move or
speak but actually he heard every word of what was said. He just wanted to tell them that he was going to be OK that he was fine. The car hadn’t done any harm what so ever just to let him out of that coma let him play in the fields and the park but no
he couldn’t do that and that was getting him down every day
he tried.  An every day he was getting worse. That he was going
to live but who knows what will happen next…

I really enjoyed this book, I think it is a book everybody would enjoy but if that isn’t your kind of book Michael Morpurgo has a lot, lot more I think you might enjoy.  Like Alone on the Wide Wide Sea, Borne to Run, Elephant in the Garden.

By the way if you like adventure stories you will like all of the Michael Morpurgo ones for sure.

Lawrence “How to Steal a Dragon’s Sword” by Cressida Cowell

“How to Steal a Dragon’s Sword” is an adventure story which is funny and very exciting. There are lots  of things going on and it can be a bit scary. Sometimes it is sad and other times it is funny. There are nine other books in the series and this is one of my favourites because lots of things happen that make you want to read on.

The main character is called Hiccup who is a Viking. Hiccup is always getting in to scrapes and mostly manages to get out of them until he makes a dragon rebellion and is thrown out of his Viking tribe and sent to live as an outcast being hunted by both humans and dragons.
