Seals are adapted to their environment because they have thick fur to keep warm. They use claws to groom their fur and cool down. The whiskers help them catch fish by feeling for them, the body is streamlined for swimming and flippers to propel them in the water. Seals eat crabs, Squid but mostly fish.

  30. Miss Pemberton says:

    Hello Everyone!

While walking in the local area over the past few days I have noticed an increasing large amount of litter on the streets of our area. The majority of the litter is created from the Manchester Road takeaway shops. I don’t think there are enough bins in the area for the amount of food sold from so many shops.

I recently went to a Trident community meeting where I was told they had some funding to clean the area up. I have seen some of this in action but not a lot just a few litter pickers which isn’t enough.

I wondered if the School Council or Newspaper Club could help solve the problem. Here are some things to think about…
Who is responsible and how can they help?
How could you get the local businesses involved?
Could we work with Trident as a team?
More importantly what can you and your family and friends do to help?

I hope you can help me with my concerns and I will look forward to hearing from you!

    Thank you
    Miss Pemberton

  56. Faiz says:

Sorry but I noticed a few mistakes in the first one I sent, so here’s a corrected version:-

    THE AMAZING ADVENTURE

The times coming closer and closer I think for me to hatch ” I wonder what I will see out there,” I whispered slowly. “Woah! that was hard work breaking out of the shell.” squeaked my little voice. I opened my eyes slowly as the day-light was hitting them. It was so warm, dark and cosy in that shell!, I thought as the day-light struck me. I had to be brave and accept everything that was coming my way. I pulled myself together and stretched my body to begin my adventure. So friends here I come, I need to find my way around. Oops! one minute I was on something green and spiky and the next minute I was on something grey and hard and can see some big things (cars) on wheel. Some are moving fast and some are moving slow “watch out there you nearly knocked me over!” I screamed. Wow, what a colourful scene, there are moving fast in lots of different colours, blue, yellow, green, black, red, pink and purple. What is all this noise blasting into my ears? (traffic- cars revving). “Wow!” what are all these rows and rows of tall things (houses) and these tall green things (trees) it’s such an amazing sight out here. Walking through all this has really tired me out. “Whippee” I found some water (puddle on the floor) I drank it so fast without a pause. I had a lot of compliments by passers-by such as “he is so cute” “I might take him home.” I came along this tall building… I can hear footsteps very loud footsteps I ran and eventually my mother caught me and took me to our nest “phew!” I’m starving my mother fed me twigs and worms. A full tummy and all the adventures I’ve been through today has really made me tried, so here I go into my nest to have a nap. Staring into the open air, all I could think of was my fun filled day. Suddenly I noticed that the day was getting dark, I continued starring into the air and found that the day was getting darker and darker, my eyes became very heavy I could not keep them open any longer. So of I went to sleep…..

I just want to tell you that on wednesday I went to meet the chicks. They were so cute a d fluffy like a ball.

  61. Dhanyal B says:

My name is Choo Choo and this is the story of what it felt like to be inside an egg and breaking out of an egg. While I was inside my egg, I felt very squashed and uncomfortable. I was really eager to discover new things and meet my mummy because I could hear her voice every day while I was inside my egg. As I started to peck tiny parts of the eggshell away I could see bright sunshine coming through to warm my face. Before I knew it I had pecked my way out of my protective eggshell. Suddenly, I had popped out of my eggshell and I saw other chicks and we were all looking for our mummy. When we found mummy she made us feel loved and looked after. As I grew older I learnt run around and peck in the ground to find food and see other animals on the farm where I live. I hope you can visit me one day!
