On Wednesday, some people in Year Six (Hollie, James, Neve, Gracie, Lois and Molly) went to the West Yorkshire cross country finals. It was at Temple Newsham ( in Leeds) and there were over 800 runners there! The children that went represented Yorkshire and some of the other children represented,
Only 5 girls went to the competition and one boy went, poor James! They had to run 1250 metres in the pouring rain – when they came home they were covered in mud.
Overall, they were very proud at the end of it and cant wait to find out what place they came. In all the years Blakehill has entered cross country competitions, these people got the furthest and did very well. All of the teachers are very proud and supported them all every step of the way. Especially in such gloomy weather! Well done!
