On Friday 17th of May, Year 1 performed an assembly about their trip to Skipton Castle. They explained about how the castle was made and how people used to live in it.
First they started off by introducing the assembly and showed pictures of the front of the castle and told us about the features on it. They spoke about the different rooms and places inside and outside of the castle. Their favourite place in the building was the dungeon because it was dark, cold and scary.
1W were taught where to build a castle by their instructor: they told us that you needed to build it near a river so that enemies couldn’t get to it. It also had to be built with high walls so that no enemies could climb over them. Finally towards the end they sang a song about castles.
What an enjoyable and informative assembly! Well done 1W.
