Hate crime assembly

Earlier this week, two very nice people (Pat and Kate) did an assembly (for KS2) about hate crime and its effect on others. Hate Crime is where someone is harassed or attacked for racial, religious or cultural differences.

Pat and Kate started off by letting us guess who liked certain things, such as rugby, and they did that to prove that you should not judge a person by how they look.

After that, they talked about our differences and our different religions and how people may not believe in the same things.

We then watched a video with an example of hate crime that showed us how to deal with it. The best thing to do is to immediately tell a trusted adult who can then help you deal with the situation.

It was a really informative assembly and we appreciate the time they gave up to come and speak to us.
