Y1 trip to the Industrial Museum

On Tuesday, Year one went on a fantastic trip to the Bradford Industrial museum. This trip started of with the section Jowett cars, where they looked at the first ever Jowett car to be made. They also got a chance to see the first Bradford van that was used to deliver the daily newspaper.

Secondly, Year 1 went to see the textile industry where they saw how the Victorians made clothes out of wool. This helped them to understand how the Victorians provided themselves with clothes.

Thirdly, they experienced how the Victorians used the printing machine of their day to print the daily newspaper. This was extremely different to what we use now in modern day.

Later on, they took a look at how workers and mill owners lived back then. Their houses were also different to modern day. These houses were made out of brick and stone, which is different to how they build them now.

Finally, they learnt how to wash clothes with a pillar designed by the victorious . They all got to take part in this event. It sounds like a great day and I am sure they had a brilliant time.
