On Thursday, Year Five went to the Coal Mining Museum. We took part in lots of fun activities including going down a mine, exploring a victorian room full of fascinating facts and we did a quiz to see what equipment we knew.
Then we went to a large room where a women acted what it was like when they mined the coal. Everyone was really enjoying it when some people came up to the front to do some acting.
Next the really fun part it was time to go in the coal mines. It was a little cold down there but we got to spread coal on our face and explore all the different machines that there were. We couldn’t believe how dark it was down there! We are glad we don’t work there!
