VE Day

This week we had a visitor. He came and taught us about WW2. We acted out scenes that would of happened during the time. My group acted out a scene and I had to put a gasmask on. It felt really funny and wierd. It must of been horrible for people in war wearing them all the time. The mask looked like a pig snout. He brought all the things we’d need to act out. He came in different classes we acted out scenes and we acted VE day.

3L Class Assembly

Today 3L performed an excellent assembly all about superheroes! It included lots of humour that made everyone laugh. It was all about pupils getting stuck on their homework, not even superheros could help! But eventually a class who understood the homework helped the people to understand it. Some of the class where dressed in superhero costumes! Most people dislike homework so the assembly gave people some great advice on how to finish it on time. All the audience loved the performance and wanted it to carry on!
Did you watch the assembly? If you did, did you like it? Did you know that we can all be Heroes if we just help each other?

E-safety Work in 4L

Class 4L went outside and did some E-safety work.  Miss Lea showed us lots of different statements to consider and think about. Then there were different answers in places around the playground that we had to go to if that was our answer.  These answers were…
I dont know
I not sure if it’s wrong
Whats the big deal
Its an individual choice
Depends on the situation
As long as I don’t get caught

We had to really think carefully about the E-safety involved and choose our answers depending on that.  Mrs Lea was very impressed with our answers though and thought we were very good at knowing how to keep safe!

1R Class Assembly

On Friday 12th 1R treated us to a brilliant assembly about Alice In Wonderland. The children spoke really clearly and they sang beautifully!  The highlight was definitely the film they had made! They used Green Screening to create the magical special effects.  Take a look and let them know which bit was your favourite.

Y6 present………The Jungle Book!

Every year, Year 6 perform an end of year production! This year it is… Jungle Book!!! Everyone in year 6 is working hard to learn their lines and make it perfect before the day of the production. There are lots of lines to learn- and we only have a few weeks left! It is going to be fantastic!

There are many different parts with many different lines. As both year sixes are performing together some of the main parts have had to be shared like Bagheera and Mowgli; never the less, some of the smaller parts are only being by one person, including Akela and Hathi.

There are going to be many songs in the production, some from the original movie: like ‘Bear Necessities’, but also other songs like ‘I just can’t wait to be king’ and ‘Eye of the tiger’.

We can’t wait!

K’nex Big Thing!

Today, 6KW worked with K’nex to make their very own Rollercoasters! They had to be very creative and willing as this activity was HARD! Altogether it took 2 whole hours to make a finished roller coaster that was presentable. It took a lot of teamwork too. Also for the past few weeks we have been designing our own theme parks with £500,000 to spend. We had a list full of things to include like

Major roller coaster 10 (squares) £50,000

and so on. Then we did maths work on it such as how much money we would earn from people coming in and what people bought from food stalls/gift shops.
We have loved this project!
