World Book Day Dress Up

On Thursday, it was world book day and the whole school dressed up as many different characters from different books. Some of them were Alice in Wonderland, things from Harry Potter, Disney Princesses, animals and spooky creatures but we couldn’t find Where’s Wally.

Mrs Russell and Miss Gardener set up a challenge to dress up as as many characters from different books as we can. Also to see if we could read 500 books as a school of 420. We got a free book token. Some of the books were Alex Rider, SuperTato, The day we met the queen and many other wonderful books.

It was a wonderful World Book Day and we all enjoyed it very much.

The New Year

I myself and the other bloggers are happy for this new year (and decade). As we are turning a new leaf, I wanted to talk about new year’s resolutions.

There are many types of resolutions like ones for school, for home and ones for yourself. As you can see, there are many different types but for some reason I always have the same one and it never lasts the full year. To be nice to my brother! However, this year I had another resolution on my mind after I broke the first one 2 minutes in. My new resolution is to stay vegetarian as I slipped a bit in 2019. This year I am hopefully going to stick to my promises.

I hope you have had a good start to 2020.

Our New Year’s Resolutions

Every New Year, people in Blakehill think about their new year’s resolutions for the next year. We all then, that year, try and complete the resolutions we chose.

Some of the resolutions we chose included:

  • Go to the gym
  • Help my parents more
  • Be kinder to other children
  • Get to know my neighbours better

Most of these were our resolutions. We all hope that this year we complete them.

Our New Year’s Resolutions

Hi everybody welcome back and happy new year. On New Years Eve we had a big party and then the the next day we try to think of a New Year’s resolution. In this blog, we are going to tell you what our new year’s resolutions are.

Hannah

Hi happy new year, I’m going to tell you about my new year resolution so mine is to try get fitter and help mum around the house (because my mum needs help).

Ava

Hi everyone, my new years resolution is to help climate change. At home I have been reading a book about a girl called Gretta Thunberg. She is a Swedish girl and wants to help the world. If by 2045 we haven’t helped the world, it wont be a planet.

Ivy

Hi I’m Ivy and I am going to tell you about my resolutions which are to support charities, donate to homeless people and help around the house (not because my mum needs help).

Have a great new year.

Our New Year’s resolutions

It is new year and we need some new years resolutions which we ARE going to follow.

{ Leah } mine is to eat less sweets because I need to eat a bit healthier.

{ Ruby } mine is to spend time with my family more.

{ Phoebe } mine is to go outside more.

We are going to try and stick to these resolutions for 2020 but, chances are, we probably won’t.

The new start to 2020 is great opportunity to change what you believe you need to. It can be in school or out. What’s your resolution ? Will you stick to it ? Lets hope so!

We hope everyone has a fantastic new year.

New Teachers

On Wednesday, all the pupils in school met their brand new teachers!

Reception got either Mrs Wardell or Miss Gardener. Year 1 discovered it would be either Mrs Scott or Mrs Pinder. Year 2 got Mr Rhodes or Mrs Roberts. Year 3 got Mr Hodges or Miss Philips. Year 4 got Mrs Hall until Miss Javed comes back or Miss Lancaster. Year 5 got Mr Sidebottom until Miss Russell comes back or Mrs Gould.

On the same day, Year 6 went to their secondary schools. They spent a whole day there while we spent 45 minutes talking about: what we do, what we’re excited about and some classes also did some activities to get ready for next year.

We’re all looking forward to starting with our brand new teachers next year.
