On Tuesday, 4H and 4P went to Eden camp, all of us loved it but in the morning Ivy and I did not want to go and I will tell you why. We said to our self, “We do not want go!” but now we are glad we went and now Ivy will tell you what we did at Eden camp.
So first we arrived ,then we deposited our lunches at Mess Hut 3. After that, we went to the toilets and went in huts. My favorite hut was The U-Boats and Hannah liked The Blitz. In the Blitz, we saw burning and heard bombs going off. In the U-Boats, we were inside the submarines that had been attacked by the German’s U-Boats and were flooding and men/women needed to fix it so everyone else wouldn’t die. How terrible that would have been!
It was a really interesting day and we had a great time.
This week, Year 4 have ventured of to visit the Mandir which is located on Leeds road. Last week, on Friday, 4H went to the Mandir and 4P went on Wednesday this week.
The Mandir is a temple for Hindus to come and worship to their Gods. When the children went, they had to take their shoes off. Next thing they did was they went up to meet the different types of Gods. They were told little different facts about each of the Gods. Some of the statues had more than two arms some had 4, 6 or 8 . They had a go at trying to figure out the names of the Gods.
While at the temple, the children completed three different activities so they could learn more about Hinduism. One activity required the children to find the Gods using key facts and descriptions about them. Then, they explored some of the different objects they may find in the Mandir and what they are used for before finally using pictures to learn about Hindu weddings.
At the end, each child got a little piece of chocolate to take away with them and walked away having learnt a lot.
