On Wednesday, Year 2 went to the church in Idle where they met Mr and Mrs Frowd. Firstly, they read the Bible but they had to wear white gloves. They then looked at other things that are precious to Christians like the thorn crown and wine glasses.
After that, the children got a little rest before learning about new things. They first got told to sit on the floor and listen very carefully before the person started telling a story about Mary Jones. She wanted a bible but she couldn’t because there were non in welsh. So she walked 25 miles just to get a bible in welsh. She was also saving money for 6 whole YEARS!
It sounded like a fascinating trip and we’re sure Year 2 had a great time!

On Monday, Year 2 went to Saltaire . Once they got off the bus in Saltaire, they dropped there lunches of in Victoria Hall.they went to the church where they saw the people who worked there dressed up a if they were alive when Titus salt was.
They also got a bookmark of people who lived there with there names on it and information. They looked for main things to do with these people as they went round.
Once they had finished at the church, they walked in the village of Saltaire and visited the houses of the people on their book marks. In Saltaire they found four lions which they attempted to sketch. After they had their lunch they continued to explore. The children had a great time exploring a local area and learning about its history.
