Geek squad is an alternative provision to the Digital Leader Academy resources. The Digital Leader Academy resources are based on a structured holistic approach to Digital Leadership encompassing many skills that are not technology dependent.
The Geek Squad is purely focused on exploring and having fun with a variety of technologies to develop a range of digital skills and where possible finding some practical school based projects using the new skills, knowledge and understanding of that technology. It is more a technology club than a traditional Digital Leader club and as such is very much open to interpretation.
This year I will be delivering a ‘Geek Squad’ after school club to children at Shipley CE in Bradford and I will be blogging about the activities and learning journeys that take place there over the year. As such, the blogs will be open to anybody to view and use for inspiration for their own Computing / Digital Leader / Geek club. If anybody wants detailed plans/ session resources to replicate at their school then we will make these available but there will be a small fee to cover the development costs of the resources.
I’m very excited at the prospect of exploring some interesting and exciting technology projects, particularly in the areas of art and design, that are ‘off curriculum’ and sharing my findings here.
