Wow! What a great question. There have been so many memories of 2012 for me. My favourite has to be Felix Baumgartner the Austrian Skydiver who jumped from 24 miles above earth. He broke the previous freefall record held by Joe Kittinger in 1960. (Kittinger jumped from 19 miles above the earth). The 24 mile freefall took less than 10 minutes. He proved that with dedication and self belief anything is possible.

For me, it has to be seeing the Olympic flame in the Olympic stadium. It must symbolise the years of ambition, hard work and dedication of athletes from around the world. Seeing Hannah Cockcroft race was special too.

I have found my largest memory from 2012 is the Olympics. I enjoyed the build up to the Olympics and following the torch travel through the various villages, towns and cities. The amazing stories of the people that carried the torches. (We have some brilliant people, young and old living around us, with great enthusiasm). The Olympic games just kept me entranced by the amount of dedication the athletes showed. It felt that the whole country was behind the ‘GB’ team and the ‘Brit’s’ showed the world ‘we know how to put on an amazing show’. I also agree with Mrs Carter about Hannah Cockcroft, she is such a strong and amazing person.

PS – Even while I’ve typed this I’ve started to smile again 😉

Well I did a lot of things in 2012 but my best memory was when Hannah Cockcroft came to our school that was very exiting!!!
But she also won a race and won 2 gold medals!!!

  5. My favourite moments of 2012 have to be the Olympics (especially Super Saturday!) Euro 2012 , and Bradford City doing well in the League!
