Year 4 Christmas party

To celebrate all the good learning that has been happening on year 4 we had our Christmas party yesterday.

What was your favourite game?

Here we are playing pass the parcel. Perhaps this might have set a world record for the world’s largest game of pass the parcel?…

A Christmassy day.

What a wonderful end to the term today. It started with our annual festive sing-a-long in the hall.
Then, this afternoon, we all went to St.James’ Church for our traditional Christmas service.
A day full of glorious singing and festive cheer.

Solar system models

Thankyou to year 5 children and parents for all the hard work you have put into your solar system projects.  You should all be very proud of your fantastic models.

Jack and the Beanstalk comes to Hothfield…

Where Will up the Beanstalk Take You?

With outstanding outfits and stunning scenery, M+M productions brought the fantasy story of Jack and the Beanstalk to life.

Everyone loves a laugh now and again and these confident actors give you a treat including: both goodies and baddies enchanting, inquisitive props, modern songs to sing along with and much, much more.

This production can be enjoyed by anyone and everyone; Jack is a teenaged boy who lives in an old, little cottage with his mum, but not for long as Squire Bogey is raising the rent. So Jack and Gill begin to climb the beanstalk; will they ever see the light of day again?

As the children from Hothfield Junior school watched, listened and sang, the smiling ( or maybe crying) actors hopped, skipped and jumped around the set.

I would rate this performance ***** because the interaction and emotion performed by the actors is fun to watch and join in with.

We watched a brilliant performance of Jack and the Beanstalk this morning. What was your favourite part of the pantomime?

Raising money for a good cause…

Alana, Scarlet and Grace in Year 5 wanted to raise money for the RSPCA so they tool the initiative and organised a photo booth session.  Children paid 50p to be ‘photoboothed’ and have their photos printed. In all the girls raised £31 for the RSPCA… Well done!

Our Solar Systems…

Year 5 have been making Solar Systems at home as a home learning project. They are really fantastic. Tell us some facts you have learned about the solar system, Year 5…
