As part of our DT learning and to celebrate food week, we have been making Cous cous salad. There was lots of measuring, chopping, mixing and of course, tasting what the children had
produced. We enjoyed it with pitta bread and juice and lots of children were surprised that it was so delicious and have brought it home to share with you all! Some adventurous children even tried green olives. Year 4s, can you remember all the ingredients we included and can you think of any other things that could be put in instead?

HOTHFIELD RUNNERS’ SPIRIT AND DETERMINATION
Hothfield athletes showed great tenacity and tremendous spirit when they raced in perfect running conditions at Cliffe Castle on Wednesday. We’re currently in overall first position in the Year 5/6 girls league and third in the Year 5/6 boys league, which are both highly competitive. We’re looking forward to the final race, in our park at Silsden, which is always a highlight. Best wishes to those children who were unable to run on Wednesday because they weren’t well.
Porridge for breakfast each day for Food Week…
Did you enjoy the porridge? Worth a Sugar Swap as an alternative to a high-sugar cereal for breakfast?
Dancing on a food theme…

Budding forensic scientists from Year 5…
Our budding Year 5 forensic scientists went to South Craven today – they had to discover who stole Paddington! The two teams were full of great questions and eager to solve the clues. They learnt about chromatography, fingerprints, using a microscope and how to identify elements by burning them in a bunsen burner.
