Victorian School

The Year 5 children have all travelled back in time this week to experience life in an authentic Victorian schoolroom.
Our trip to the Bradford Industrial Museum gave everyone the chance to use chalk slates, sit in rows on benches, use ink dip pens and recite poetry, songs and times tables.
We were really pleased that the children used their prior learning from their topic work this year to impress the School Master and that they followed the strict rules of the Victorian classroom so wonderfully.
Everyone had a special Victorian name for the day and dressed up brilliantly in Victorian clothing!

It must of been pretty miserable at the school, the teachers must have been really strict! But in the last picture you were all smiling so it must have been alright after all! 😀
