Hothfielders Beat the Rain!

A fantastic 30 Hothfield children took part in the 2nd of the KCAC Primary Schools Cross Country on Wednesday afternoon at Cliffe Castle.    Conditions underfoot were a bit wet and a bit muddy to say the least,  but that didn’t put our determined runners off!  A special mention to Oliver and to Kate who both took falls but bravely carried on and finished well up in their respective races.  There was a record turn out with all schools in the local area represented and an amazing 119 athletes competing in the Year 3 / 4 boys’ race.  Thank you to all our parents who transported children to the event and supported them so enthusiastically.  Also to Mrs Dent and Mrs Smithies whose help was invaluable as always.  We are looking forward to the 3rd race of the series in February next year.

Y5 Industrial Museum Trip

The Year 5 children enjoyed a fascinating trip to Bradford Industrial Museum today. To fit with Topic learning, they all experienced a session in a Victorian Schoolroom where they were taught the 3 ‘R’s, sang, recited poetry and learnt facts about an orange.
It was great to see the children engage with their learning so well, not least due to the wonderful costumes they came in! We hope that you remember this experience for a long time to come.
