Year 5 Rewind to Easter

Our Year 5 children today enjoyed the annual ‘Rewind to Easter’ session at Silsden Methodist Church. The event, organised by Christian Links in Keighley Schools (CLiKS) with Churches Together in Silsden, gave the children the opportunity to learn more about the Easter story, put their craft skills into practice to decorate seed pots and to work enthusiastically with community volunteers.

The children were a real credit to Hothfield this morning, showing how effectively they can work together as a year group. The volunteers particularly noticed how polite they all were and how well they helped each other with the activities.

Enjoying a fabulous music concert…

4 Weasels enjoying some Show and Tell

It’s important to let our children share news with their classmates as well as brushing up on their presenting skills!

Should Mr Fox steal?

As part of literacy, Year 3 classes are asking is it right that Mr Fox steals chickens from the farmers because his family are starving? Can stealing ever be right? What do you think?

Year 5 sharing stories with Aire View

Over the last two days, Year 5 visited the Year 1 classes (Swallows, Eagles and Robins) at Aire View Infants to share their fantastic stories. The children have written some wonderful tales suitable for younger readers and have been rehearsing their performances especially for today. We were lucky enough to get the opportunity to hear the children in year 1 read some of their stories too. What a beautiful day!
