8th Annual Film & Animation Competition 2012

It is that time of year again when I have to dig the tuxedo out of the wardrobe and work out how many pounds I need to lose so that I can wear it in July at the Annual Film and Animation awards at the National Media Museum. This is my favourite event of the year allowing the pupils of Bradford to showcase their work to each other on the big screen.

Every year we receive around a hundred entries including photostory 3, animation and films from KS1 and KS2 that always surprise us with their quality and originality. Due to the numbers of entries we short list for the ‘Final’ day where the successful entries are shown to an audience of over 150 pupils, parents and school staff who then have the opportunity to using an interactive voting system to choose their winners. Each of the winning schools then receive an Oscar and prize for their school and having spoken to previous winners years later it is an achievement that they cherish long after the event.

To register your intent to submit entries for this year’s event please use this link before the 27th April. This is free to curriculum ICT subscribing schools, if you are not a subscribing school and would like to attend please contact Sarah.hawkins@bradford.gov.uk
