G and T Outdoor Maths Day

On Monday, 54 children from 9 different schools took part in an outdoor learning day with maths as the main focus. John Davie, head teacher at Harden Primary School, the Curriculum ICT team and Phil Lowde (Bear and Lapor Ltd) worked in partnership to plan a fabulous day full of fun, teamwork and maths at Blackhills Campsite near Wilsden.
On arrival, the children were split into groups of 6 (2 children from 3 different schools). Throughout the day, they took part in 3 activities – Maths with an outdoor twist with Phil Lowde, geocaching with James Langley and the teachers and support staff who attended ran some pre-prepared activities including texture trails, colour bingo and leaf hunts. The day was rounded off with some fantastic den building by each team. The Curriculum ICT team would like to thank all the pupils and staff who attended for making it a fabulous, fun-filled learning experience.
