Acting Headteacher blog –

on December 10, 2016

This week my blog seems somewhat redundant – which is great!

The intention has been to share a snapshot of some of the things going on in school and some of the classes have really excelled themselves this week with their entries. From Gods and Mortals, Traders and Raiders and I Am Warrior to Beat Band Boogie the children have shared a real snapshot of what they have been doing this term.

I encourage you to take a look and please comment on the work as you are looking – a real, interactive audience for the children is so inspiring and a source of great delight.

A couple of confirmed times – Wednesday sees the Reception Nativity walk taking place at 2 o’clock and Thursday at 2 the KS1 afternoon performance takes place in the school hall. In the evening please can children be in school for 5:30 for a 6 o’clock start.

Next week there will be some parent information coming home about the use of digital media in the form of a magazine called ‘Digital Parenting’ which leads to a parent sesion with PCSO Steve Atkinson on January ¬†after school on the 6th January. This is targetted at use of games machines onlone but he will be happy to take questions and share information about anything regarding online media during the session.

On January 11th at 5:30 – 6:30 there is the second of our Parent Forum sessions at school. This is a governor led session which enables parents to come and share the things they think are going well and not so well in a constructive manner. With Governors and the Leadership Team there to listen we can hopefully address some of the issues that can be frustrating for both school and parents. I would encourage you to attend – the more people we can talk to the more we get a balanced and representative selection of views and the more weight the views will carry. If you are unable to attend please email in anything you would like considering for discussion. There is no promise of outcomes decided at the forum itself but it is a great chance to have your ideas heard and taken forward in to school action and policy.
