School Games Mark

Congratulations to everyone who has taken part in after-school clubs, PE lessons, Sports Day and competitions this year. You have all helped us achieve the Bronze School Games mark for the first time ever!

We were really close to achieving silver so make sure you keep it up next year.

Year 6 African Drumming

On Monday, Paul Butler from Drummers United came to our school to teach us how to play African Drums. We learnt lots of rhythms and facts in the session then performed to the school in assembly.

It was a fantastic afternoon!

Internet Safety

On Friday, year five and six were visited by two ladies who came to discuss internet safety. They explained about the age limits on various websites, what dangers to look out for and what to do if you do not feel safe.

What did you learn?

Year 6 Science & Media Museum

On Wednesday 13th February,Year 6 went on a visit to the Science & Media Museum in Bradford. We went on the bus and took part in lots of activities once we were there.

We looked at the TV, gaming and animation exhibitions. In addition, we took part in a ‘Light it up’ session with science experiments about light. Before lunch we watched an Imax film and saw the dissection of a sheep’s eye and learnt the parts. Lastly we explored the Wonderlab and conducted science experiments.

Well done Year 6. You were a credit to the school and learnt lots!

Year 6 Christmas Week 2018

Remembrance Day Year 6 & Reception

Last week, Year 6 and Reception class worked together to produce a fantastic Remembrance Day display to celebrate 100 years since the end of WW1.

The children in both classes worked together to produce lots of poppies using paint, tissue paper, crayons and felt tips. We then joined them altogether on the silhouette of a soldier.

Year 2 also kindly contributed their poppies in the shape of 100.

Well done to everyone involved. I am so proud of this amazing tribute.

Year 6 Whitby Trip

On Friday, Year 6 went to Whitby as part of our topic work. We looked at the Abbey, walked down (and up) the 199 steps, went in the old town, on the pier and play on the beach. The children also had time to look in the shops and buy gifts and sweets. We had a fantastic day although the weather was miserable and wet.
