Junior Dance Challenge 2016

On Saturday, 17 children from St Paul’s went to BBEC to take part in the Junior Dance Challenge with four other schools, Hollingwood Lane, Swain House, High Crags and Reevy Hill.

The children started the day off with a a warm up and watching the adults (myself and Miss Wassell) dance on the stage! Then each school took turns to rehearse on the stage, the children then had lunch and begun to get ready for the show with hair and make-up, finishing with two shows and the results.

St Paul’s were unbelievable and although they didn’t win overall, they won two awards:

  • Best choreograohy
  • Best dramatic performance

A huge well done to all that took part!

Healthy Eating Club!

The children have been very busy in healthy eating club in the last two weeks. The first week we made delicious fruit skewers using: strawberries, grapes, kiwi, melon, apple and banana. The children helped prepare the fruit using their peeling and chopping skills.IMG_2287IMG_2289

This week we have made a variety of sandwiches. The children helped to prepare the fillings by:

  • chopping tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese and ham
  • making egg and cress mayonnaise
  • mixing tuna with cucumber or sweetcorn

The children buttered their own bread and had a choice of fillings from:

  • ham, cheese and tomato
  • tuna and sweetcorn

Share a story!

Our after school club, share a story, has got off to a fantastic start. Week 1 we read and re-told the story of Mrs Honey’s Hat using puppets and props. We also made our own hat just like Mrs Honey! This week we read the rainbow fish. We created our own fish puppets with beautiful, couloured, shiny scales. Come and enjoy share a story club on a Monday after school for Reception and Year 1!
