Internet Safety

On Friday, year five and six were visited by two ladies who came to discuss internet safety. They explained about the age limits on various websites, what dangers to look out for and what to do if you do not feel safe.

What did you learn?

Manchester Attack

On Wednesday, in year six, we had a class discussion about the terrible attacks that took place in Manchester earlier in the week. Everyone wanted to share their thoughts and feelings as well as sending messages of love and support to anyone who has been affected, so we decided to make some posters. Here are a selection of pieces from the class’ posters:

All of our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families and friends at this difficult time.

Remembrance Day

This week we have learnt all about Remembrance day and done some awesome Art work in every class.

We also had an assembly and a 2 minute silence to remember all the soldiers and other people involved in World War 1 especially but also World War 2  and wars that are still going on right now.

Here are some examples of our Art work.

Year 2 – Drama Workshop

Year 2 took part in a drama workshop in which they learnt:

  1. How to project their voices.
  2. How to use facial expressions to show feelings and emotions.
  3. What a stereotype is.
  4. How to do a freeze frame.

They participated in activities to support their understanding of these four area of learning.IMG_1997

Children were interviewed by the rest of the class whilst they took on the role of a different character.

Then in small groups they created a “freeze frame” to show a range of jobs.

Can you guess what jobs the children are showing?

Check out the facial expressions to see if they help you.
