Carols with the Choir

The children in the choir did us proud today as they put on a fantastic show for the members of St Paul’s Church. They sang their hearts out and entertained every one with their amazing choreography and Christmas jokes.

It was also very nice to see them mingle with our guests and serve them drinks or mince pies.

They are all super stars and so are their “managers” (Mr Collier and Mrs Barraclough)!

Year 3 – Diwali

Firstly we would like to wish anyone who celebrates, a Happy Diwali!

In Year 3 our topic in Religious Education is Hindu Festivals.

We have started by looking at the Festival of Diwali as it was on the 7th November.

Diwali lasts for 5 days and is the Festival of Light.

As part of our RE lesson we designed and began to make some Diva lamps. We have used clay and different tools to follow our paper designs.

We are looking forward to painting them once the clay has dried. Keep checking back to see our finished products.

In Year 4 we have been learning about Ramadan and Eid this week.

We would like to say a big WELL DONE to the children who taught us all about it in class and in assembly and THANK YOU for bringing in some of their personal belongings and food to make it more real for us.

We wish all our Muslims friends a Happy Eid.

Eid Mubarak!

St Paul’s Easter Service

We had a wonderful Easter service in church today.

We are particularly proud of the children who read the Easter story and the prayers. They did a fabulous job!

Well done to all the classes for making the wonderful things that were given to Thierry throughout the service and for singing their little hearts out. It was amazing!

Thank you to all the parents, carers, family and friends who attended. We hope you enjoyed it too and look forward to seeing you again soon.

Year 4’s Hindu Shrine

Last Friday, in RE,  Year 4 learnt that Hindus can worship in a temple called a Mandir or at home and that they do so in front of a shrine. A shrine  can be anywhere in your home and usually has a murti (statue of a Hindu god or goddess), a bell, some kum kum powder, some water, some fruit  and some flowers.

The children enjoyed designing their own shrine in our classroom and making flowers for it.

Well done, Year 4!

RE and Science in Year 4

Year 4 children and teachers would like to give a great big THANK YOU to Olivia and Harveer for leading parts of our lessons this week. Olivia brought in her Guinea pig and taught us how to look after it. Harveer talked about Sikhism and showed us the bracelets and magnet he bought from his visit to the Golden Temple.

Well done to you both.

Harvest Festival

This morning we celebrated Harvest Festival in church and what a wonderful service it was!!

A big THANK YOU goes to all the children and staff involved but also to all the parents, carers, relatives and friends who attended the service and to all the people who contributed to amazing donations brought in for Bradford Food Bank.

Each class sang wonderfully well, the readers had lovely clear voices and the members of the choir sang their little hearts out!

Here are a few pictures of this memorable service.

Thank you, everyone!
