Where are we in the world?

Last week, the children took part in some Geography curriculum themed activities whilst being in school. We looked specifically at location knowledge and thought about putting St Paul’s on the map!

The children enjoyed investigating and using maps, atlases and globes to explore the world around us.

Firstly, the children researched things in our local area and looking at what the community of Wibsey village has to offer. We then explored the city of Bradford and other cities of England and the UK. We also found which county Bradford is in and other surrounding counties of the area.

The children got to use different media and materials to make leaflets and posters about our country of England/UK as well as our continent of Europe and other continents of the world.

Gardening Together

This week, the children have enjoyed tidying up the garden and planting some flowers.

We are so proud of them! They have done a wonderful job, haven’t they?

Stay safe!

Earth Day

We have had a great few days in school. We have been painting, drawing and thinking about how we can look after our planet.

We hope you’re all staying safe and well. Please take some time to look around you and be thankful for all the things God has given us. It really is a blessing.

Road Safety Y3 and Y4

Today Years 3 and 4 had a visit from the Road Safety Team.

The Road Safety Team spoke to us about how to stay safe when walking on the pavements and crossing the road.

They told us some important things to remember when we are crossing the road:

  1.  Find a safe place to cross.

3.Look – right, left and right again.

We got the chance to use their role play road and learnt where is safe to cross and where is not. We can now all be safer when crossing the road.

Year 6 Imax and Science and Media Museum

Yesterday, Year 6 went on a trip to the Science and Media Museum in Bradford. We took part in 2 workshops, watched a science film on the Imax and looked around the exhibitions. We learnt lots of new facts about photography and cameras. We also had the chance to experiment with lights and cameras as well as taking part in science experiments.

In the Imax cinema we watched a film called ‘Mysteries of the unseen world‘. It showed how cameras can capture things that are too small, too fast or too slow for the eye to see. It was fantastic. Here is a clip.

Here are the rest of our photos.

Well done to all the children who represented St.Paul’s brilliantly and received a compliment from someone at the museum for their excellent behaviour.

** Tell me a new fact you learnt below please **

Miss Charles 🙂
