# Trip to York Chocolate Story

Year 4 had an amazing time in York today as they had a guided tour of York Chocolate Story and attended a Science workshop at the Methodist Church.

The children were really well behaved and enjoyed learning about the history of chocolate, tasting different kinds of chocolate and making their own chocolate lollies and wall paper.

Well done, Year 4 and Thank you Mick and Edwina for coming with us.

Mrs Hallworth, Mrs Broadbent and Miss Teale.

In Year 4 we have been learning about Ramadan and Eid this week.

We would like to say a big WELL DONE to the children who taught us all about it in class and in assembly and THANK YOU for bringing in some of their personal belongings and food to make it more real for us.

We wish all our Muslims friends a Happy Eid.

Eid Mubarak!

# Road Safety Y3 and Y4

Today Years 3 and 4 had a visit from the Road Safety Team.

The Road Safety Team spoke to us about how to stay safe when walking on the pavements and crossing the road.

They told us some important things to remember when we are crossing the road:

1.  Find a safe place to cross.

2.Stop

3.Look – right, left and right again.

4.Listen

We got the chance to use their role play road and learnt where is safe to cross and where is not. We can now all be safer when crossing the road.

# Super Sounds in Year 4

Today, Year 4 were very noisy!! But it was all for a good reason: we were learning about sound. The children had to find out how different instruments make different sounds and how the pitch can change.

They explored the sounds made by various instruments in pairs and then had to present their findings to the class which was not always easy, but they got there in the end. So well done, Year 4. Keep up the good work!

# Year 4 Invertebrate Hunt

Our Science topic being Living things and their habitats, we learnt to group vertebrates and invertebrates using classification keys, Venn and Caroll diagrams. We then went on an invertebrate hunt behind the church before examining our findings in the classroom and drawing these tiny creatures in detail. Here are some photos of our very successful hunt.

Well done, Year 4!
