Save a Heart Day

Today we had ‘Save a Heart Day’ at Thackley to raise money for a life-saving defibrillator. We are hoping to raise at least £1400 so we can buy a defibrillator to be kept at the school and available 24 hours a day to anyone in our local community if they need it in an emergency.

We had lots of different fundraising activities. Everyone wore red or pink and paid a minimum of £1 a huge bun sale, a ‘name the bear’ raffle and another raffle for a lovely valentine hamper.

We have had lots of very generous donations from the community too. Jigsaw, The White Bear, The Commercial, Thackley Football Club, and the local karate club have all contributed. Parent, Tracey Hall has been baking and selling cakes. We have even had an ex-pupil wanting to contribute who now lives in Spain!

To mark the day we had a fantastic picture taken by Thomas Gadd of Thomas Gadd Photography using his drone! Everyone from Reception to Year 6 stood in a heart shape outside school. Huge thanks to Tom for his support – we love our pictures!

We even made it into the Telegraph and Argus! Click HERE to see the article.

We are very very grateful to our staff, parents and the community for the wondeful support they have given us. We are adding up the donations and will be able to reveal the final figure soon!
