Y5 London Residential – Day One

Our Year 5 children have had a wonderful first day on their residential to London.  We left at 8am and had been on the road for about 30 minutes before we heard the first “Are we there yet?!” We met our driver, Carl, who will be our driver for the three days.

Once we arrived at the hotel, the children found out which room they were in and who they were sharing with. It was an exciting time!! We also met Derek, our tour guide, who will be spending all three days with us.

Once the children had explored their rooms and got changed, we set off again on our coach. We drove around central London and Derek pointed out some of the sights. We got off the bus at Buckingham Palace and had a few photographs.

We had our evening meal at the Rainforest Cafe.  The children loved the theme with moving animals and sound effects!

It is Evie’s birthday today so we sang happy birthday.

We went to see Wicked! It was absolutely brilliant!

By the end of the show, some children were starting to feel really tired – it has been a long day!! We returned to the hotel, got ready for bed and most children were asleep very quickly.

Goodnight!
